Shot of the Day!
This close-up shot of an adult female Cooper's Hawk was taken at the Idaho Bird Observatory (IBO) located on Lucky Peak near Boise. Here birds of prey, owls and songbirds are captured in a variety of nets, carefully removed, banded, measured and checked for overall health and released back to the wild. This helps the biologists performing the operation identify trends of and needs for our migrating feathered friends.
